I know that you are wearing a lot of roles in your life. I believe that every woman specifically deserves to take the time to heal properly. So, sis, this is your safe space. This is the place that you can learn, that you can grow, that you can make mistakes. I want you to start transitioning with a level of grace and intentionality, because you were created to weather the storm. You were created to put so much goodness and phenomenal energy into this world.
Jessica Lundy:Welcome to the Finally Healed with Jessica Lundy podcast, where we prioritize mental health, self-care and embracing our healing journey together. Welcome to season one. This is our first episode and, as you can tell, I am excited about this experience. I am so grateful that you are here. I do not take for granted that you are watching, that you are listening and you are now a part of our community, and I am so glad that you are here Now. If you are wondering who is this woman with all this energy, I'm about to tell you who I am.
Jessica Lundy:My name is Jessica Lundy. I am the host of this podcast. I am an international keynote speaker. I am a life coach, a keynote writing speaking coach, an author, but without all of the accolades, without all of the elaborate titles. I am a woman on a mission to help as many women as possible to prioritize their mental health and their well-being.
Jessica Lundy:I have been someone that has struggled with depression and anxiety for over a decade. I know what it feels like to achieve the dream right Get your dream job. I competed with over 1,500 people to be the face of a TV network and I was so grateful for that amazing opportunity. I was able to interview celebrities like Usher Raymond the Usher Raymond on the red carpet. I had the opportunity to guest host on a variety of national TV shows and it literally was my dream, since I was five, to do that. What I did not know about that dream is it was going to come with working long hours. I'm not talking about a couple hours here or there. I was often working 60 plus hours, getting paid for 40. I was sitting on the board of so many organizations because I'm so passionate, wanting to help people, but I was burnt out and I got to a point where I wasn't feeling like the most fulfilled version of myself. So I knew that I had to create a structure, a plan, a processes to help myself, make sure that I have balance so that I could truly have it all, and so I am grateful to be able to celebrate 10 years of marriage.
Jessica Lundy:I have an amazing husband that's super involved. A lot of people see Mikey. If you've ever seen me speak, you know he's with me because he is a phenomenal photographer and videographer. And I am a mother to a beautiful daughter that was born not one, not two, not three, but four months early. My baby was a 24 weeker. She was born at one pound. She was in the hospital 285 days, which is nine months, and she has a trach because she has a narrow airway and she also has a feeding tube.
Jessica Lundy:And when I say that this little princess is a miracle, a sign and a wonder, that is still an understatement to describe baby Abigail, an understatement to describe baby Abigail. So I am grateful to not just be this international speaker, not just to be one of the top speaking coaches in the world, but I am a caregiver for my daughter and to be a first-time mom, learning how to be a nurse, learning how to be the best wife that I can be for my husband and prioritize self-care, sis, that is a lot, and so I know that you are wearing a lot of roles in your life and, to be honest, you have probably shared similar frustrations, similar challenges, similar things that you had to overcome with your friends and your family, and they might not have been able to understand. But that is also why I am known as America's Big Sister, because I am your big sis now and I am here to help you and support you and encourage you. And if you're watching this and saying, I'm not sure if you're quite the big sis because I'm a little bit older than you, that is okay. It has nothing to do with age, it just has to do with wisdom and mindset. I truly want you to have the life that you have desired, to have your entire life.
Jessica Lundy:Most people are only one step, one action, one decision away from changing their life forever, and so I am so grateful and honored that you are here. So you might be thinking, jessica, with everything you got going on your plate, girl, why are you not doing a podcast? I am really doing this as a labor of love. I have worked with thousands of people, helping them achieve their dreams and their goals, but I have noticed a consistent theme Most people have no problem starting something, but a lot of people struggle with finishing. See when that excitement of the new thing, the shiny new object, wears off. That's really when the work and the discipline sets in, and so I'm so grateful to be someone that has reinvented myself time and time again. I am so grateful to be someone that has put the work in to be at the top of the industry in television, the top of the industry in speaking, and now I am grateful and honored to work my butt off to be at the top of the industry with podcasting, because I believe that every woman specifically deserves to take the time to heal properly. So, sis, this is your safe space. This is the place that you can learn, that you can grow, that you can make mistakes.
Jessica Lundy:On these podcasts that are going to be coming out on Monday, season one is going to be packed with practical tools. We're going to be having girl talk. I'm going to occasionally have friends that stop by, sit on the couch and really share their heart on this healing journey. I am a huge advocate of us all doing this together. We don't have to figure this thing called life out by ourselves. We are now a community, we are now family, and I am excited to have you as a part of my tribe.
Jessica Lundy:So I want you to think about transition differently. Sometimes we're transitioning from being single to married. Sometimes we're transitioning from being single to married. Sometimes we're transitioning to becoming a parent. Sometimes we're transitioning within our career field or becoming an entrepreneur, and so I want you to start seeing transition differently. I want you to start transitioning with a level of grace and intentionality, because you were created to weather the storm. You were created to put so much goodness and phenomenal energy into this world, and so when I talk about transition, it's not necessarily going to be an easy thing. Let me tell you when I went from speaking all over the world to having a child, I had to transition to become a new mother, and that transition was not easy, especially having my own medical health challenges and my daughter's medical health challenges.
Jessica Lundy:But surrounding myself around amazing family reading books I am an avid book reader, so if you like books as well, let me know. We can even do a little book club. But surrounding myself with self-improvement resources I am really big on personal development, like trying to be the best version of myself. So I'm gonna push you on here. When you're listening, you're gonna leave encouraged, you're gonna leave inspired, but you're also going to leave with some homework, because I think it's important to figure out who you are, as not just the titles that you hold right. Sometimes, if I were to ask you who you are, you might say, oh, I'm a wife, I'm a mother, I'm an entrepreneur, I'm this, I'm that. But I want you to go deeper and figure out who you are, like the essence of who you are, who your identity is, and that is a vital exercise. So I want you to bring out that journal right and start getting to work Now. During this process, it's not going to be easy, like get your box of tissue ready. Like get ready to cry, get ready to release.
Jessica Lundy:Some of you have been holding on to some past trauma, some brokenness, some hopelessness for too long. I'm the one to tell you it's time to get back out there. Like the things that you put on that goals list. It's time to stop looking at them, goals year after year, and it's time to start taking action to turn those dreams into a reality. I don't want you to no longer be scrolling on social media and look at other women doing amazing things and think, man, I at one point in my life had a dream to do this too. No, it's your time. It's your time, sis, to get to work and to put yourself out there. You now have a community that's going to support you, that's going to encourage you, that's going to back you up and let you know you've got this. You are that girl. So I am excited about your healing journey. I am excited about you doing the work. I am excited about you putting yourself as your number one priority, because that is actually required, like to be the best wife, to be the best mother, to be the best entrepreneur, to be the best student. You got to be the best you, so we don't want to skip that vital step on self-improvement and self-love.
Jessica Lundy:So one of my favorite segments that we are going to be doing every episode is called the healing moment, and on this segment, I am going to be giving you an action item, like something for you to do every time, and I want you to take yourself out on a date. I wish self-date was talked about a little bit more. I remember there was a season where if someone was like, oh, you should go to a restaurant by yourself, I'd be like, no, you should go to the movies by yourself. No, why would I do that? But I realized if I am not comfortable with my own company, that's a problem. So I had to go on this journey of going on these self dates, and I still do that to this day. I would tell my husband hey, I'll be back. I need some me time, so you deserve me time and I want to see pictures and videos from the dates that you're going to have by yourself. Solo dates are so powerful, so I want you to follow us on social media at finallyhealedpod and tag us on your solo date so that we can celebrate the self-love journey that you are on. I am so grateful to have you here.
